Students, Scholars & Researchers

SAGE offers dedicated pathways designed to train, mentor, and empower the next generation of Indigenous leaders and interdisciplinary conservationists. We are always looking for ways to fund additional positions and opportunities!

Student Internships & Fellowships

We have a limited number of paid, hands-on student internships and fellowships for undergraduate and graduate students in ethnobotany, field archaeology, and braided phenology science.

Visiting Indigenous Scholars & Knowledge Holders

Current funding is supporting active collaborators working on current projects, and we hope to offer additional opportunities in the future as funding allows.

Indigenous Science Postdoctoral Fellowship

We currently have filled our Indigenous Science Postdoctoral Researcher position beginning November 2026, and we are always looking for additional funding to offer additional positions.

San Francisco State University MA Program in Integrative Biology

We invite prospective students interested in working with Dr. Shannon Tushingham to reach out; please contact us if you are interested in discussing your ideas. While dedicated funding is not currently available, we are eager to collaborate with students on internal fellowship and grant proposals.
