Public Outreach &Education (Under construction)

Welcome to the Sage Center!

The SAGE Center invites the general public, local communities, educators, and science enthusiasts to engage with braided science, explore biocultural history, and participate in community-led conservation.

Connecting People, Science, & Ancestral Knowledge

The SAGE Center brings together ancestral cultural knowledge and scientific tools to care for our shared planet. We believe that caring for nature and honoring human heritage go hand in hand. Every person and family carries unique cultural traditions, heritage, and ancestral stories that shape how we view and interact with the natural world around us.

Discovering and reviving these deep-rooted connections helps inspire collective action. Whether through community science, local biodiversity stewardship, or learning from traditional ecological wisdom, everyone has a meaningful role to play in ecocultural restoration. We invite you to explore your own traditions, connect with nature in your community, and join us in restoring vibrant, resilient landscapes for future generations.

What Is Braided Science & Two-Eyed Seeing?

Braided Science and Two-Eyed Seeing bring together Indigenous Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) and Western scientific methods on an equal plane. By combining deep ancestral wisdom, oral traditions, and time-tested land stewardship with empirical scientific tools, this holistic framework creates innovative, co-created solutions for restoring ecocultural landscapes and addressing global climate crises.
